Twitter: How to get a maximum of retweets.

It is by analyzing the activity of 1.423 Twitter accounts and 1.7 million tweets that the agency Trackmaven gives us today a small report that should help you get a maximum of retweets. At what hours of the evening or day do your messages have the best chance of being relayed? Does a message containing an image have more impact than a text message? Do the hashtags and mentions have a real influence? Answers in the rest of this article ...
1: PERIODS FOR RT
Let's start with the best times to get retweets. According to the Trackmaven study, the days when activity is highest are Tuesday, Wednesday and Thursday. Against all odds, however, it is during the weekend and especially on Sunday that your messages are most likely to be retweeted .

Next are the most favorable time bands. Like the previous data and although the activity is maximum between 10am and 18h, it is the evening and more precisely from 20h to 1am that the probability of retweets are the highest .

2: HASHTAGS, MENTIONS AND POSITION OF LINKS
The Trackmaven team then looked at the impact that the hashtags (# motclé) and mentions (@pseudo) as well as the position of the links embedded in a message could have on its potential occasions.
We thus learn that the more a message includes hashtags, the more likely it is to be relayed (0.301 RT for a message containing 5 hashtags against 0.116 RT for a message which does not contain it). It is the same when one multiplies the mentions to note that the effect reverses on the other hand beyond 6 mentions. Finally, know that it is better to place a link in the middle or at the end of a tweet .

3: THE WEIGHT OF WORDS, THE IMPACT OF PICTURES
On October 29th, Twitter was deploying an update allowing the preview of the images directly from the timeline (from now on, it is no longer necessary to click on a link to open the attached file). This innovation has clearly had an impact on the percentage of retweets of messages including an image that get 0.404 RT against 0.133 RT for text-only messages.

4: FORMATTING MESSAGES
Let's finish with message formatting. Punctuating your tweets with exclamation marks obviously has an impact on their reach. Thus, the percentage of RT skyrockets for messages containing more than 6 exclamation points (0.299 RT for a message containing 6 exclamation points and up to 0.484 RT for a message containing 9 exclamation points).
Although it is not necessarily recommended, the misuse of capital letters also increases the chances of your messages being relayed . Specifically, a message written entirely in uppercase obtains 0.8 RT while a naturally formatted message gets 0.147 RT hard.
If you have a habit of asking your subscribers to relay your messages, finally know that it is better to politely claim Retweets and not RT .

5: CONCLUSIONS
In summary, if you want to increase the chances of your tweets being relayed by a maximum of people, it is therefore advisable to send them on Sunday, at the end of the evening, to decorate them with an image as well as several hashtags and mentions, put your links at the end of messages and do not hesitate to punctuate them with several exclamation points.
The bravest of you can also write their messages in capital letters and claim retweets
